Reflection Week 2

Date: 02nd March, 2013 (Saturday)

This week, our lecturer introduced us a wonderful and interesting learning medium through video, that is Khan Academy. It's really help us to improve our understanding of such concepts especially chemistry. All videos on this site is free and it can be used by teachers and students in the teaching and learning process.

The Khan Academy is a non-profit educational website created in 2006 by American educator, Salman Khan, a graduate of MIT and Harvard Business School. The stated mission is "providing a high quality education for anyone, anywhere". The website supplies a free online collection of more than 4,000 micro lectures via video tutorials stored on YouTube teaching mathemathics, physics, chemistry, biology, and more.
As long as I remembered, when I was in secondary school, this kind of learning medium couldn't be felt. There's a lot of changes and features that can be used in T&L process in school nowadays. Students, in fact, should use this opportunity to make them excel and succeed in academics performance.

Besides knowing about Khan Academy, we're also given a task to choose any software for each group and present it during classes of the following weeks. The software that have been chosen for our Peer Teaching are Blog (Group 1), Picasa (Group 2), Microsoft Publisher (Group 4), ChemSketch (Group 3), OneNote (Group 7), MovieMaker (Group 5), Prezi (Group 8), Microsoft PowerPoint (Group 6), Microsoft Excel (Group 9).

Of course, this might be an interesting and exciting moment for me coz I will learn something new, something that I've never know it whereabouts. This ICT class has given me a platform to learn something new and valuable....that I might used in future...=)
