Interactive White Board (IWB)

Interactive whiteboard is a large interactive display that connects to a computer. A projector projects the computer's desktop onto the board's surface where users control the computer using a pen, finger, stylus, or other device. The board is typically mounted to a wall or floor stand. 

They are used in variety of setting including classrooms at all level of education, in training room, in broadcasting studios, and others.

This software can easily be downloaded from the internet....It can be used to make our presentation become more interactive and interesting..It can be use to attract  students' attention....But, this application can only be used if there is an internet connection...

Assignment 5

Another assignment given by our lecturer are entitled Simulation / Modelling which need to be submitted on 13th of April, 2013. In this assignment, we need to select a concept or related concept for which simulation/modelling might be an appropriate ICT tool. 

Simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real-world process or system over time. The act of simulating something first requires that a model be developed which represents the key characteristics or behaviors/functions of the selected physical or abstract system or process. The model represents the system itself, whereas the simulation represents the operation of the system over time. Simulation is used in many contexts such as simulation of technology for performance optimization, testing, training, education and video games. Simulation can be used to show the eventual real effects of alternative conditions and courses of action. 

                              Chemistry Experiment Simulations and Conceptual Computer Animations

The assignment is designed using the 3E (Engage, Empower, Enhance) teaching model.

• Engage is a method that elicits students' ideas from their prior knowledge through a few questions, so that teachers could know the level of the students and where should they begin to teach the students. Teachers also could build knowledge based on students existing knowledge. This show the two way communication between teacher and student was occurred. 
• Empower is a method where experiment is conducted to increase students' knowledge and understanding on particular topic. In empower, teachers will prepare some questions from the easiest to the hardest for the students to answer, so that they might empower their knowledge. 
• Enhance is another method same as the engage but the difference is that enhance is the application of the knowledge. During enhance,suitable questions and situation was required to elicit students' idea and what they do understand to relate and apply it to the daily life. They have to think creatively and critically when answering the provided questions.

Tugasan 6 merupakan tugasan berkumpulan di mana kami dikehendaki memilih 4 konsep di dalam mata pelajaran kimia sama ada Tingkatan 4 ataupun Tingkatan 5,dan menyediakan satu rakaman video yang menerangkan keepmat-empat konsep tersebut. Kumpulan saya terdiri daripada Kak Suziyana, Kak Musfirah dan saya, Fazidah telah memilih tajuk "An Alkali" yang mengandungi 4 konsep iaitu: 

1. Concept of Alkali
2. Strong and Weak Alkali
3. Role of Water
4. Verifying Alkali
